Creating an inclusive workplace starts with understanding the experiences and needs of neurodivergent people and taking meaningful steps to remove barriers. Neurodiversity Focus provides access to resources and support that help employers foster more inclusive workplaces.
Absence Prevention and Accommodation Services (APAS)
Desjardins Insurance offers employers specialized support when a person’s needs, whether related to neurodivergence or not, impact their capacity to work. Rehabilitation specialists assess the situation and recommend personalized accommodation strategies to support continued employment, long-term performance and well-being.
Examples of recommended accommodations:
- Ergonomic assessments and workstation adjustments
- Rehabilitation services or other health-related support
- Work schedule adjustments and task reorganization
- Support in managing occasional absences
Autism Canada
A national organization dedicated to advancing the acceptance and inclusion of autistic and neurodivergent people while providing support to their families and loved ones. Through this partnership, employers have access to specialized resources that help create more inclusive, accessible and supportive workplaces where neurodivergent talent can thrive.
Services offered:
- Virtual or on-site workplace audit with recommendations to improve inclusion, accessibility and sensory considerations. Preferred rate for Desjardins Insurance plan sponsors: $1,000 (travel and accommodation expenses not included).
- Sensory Support Kit Designed to support sensory regulation, these kits can help make a variety of environments more comfortable and accessible for autistic and neurodivergent people. They include tools such as noise-cancelling headphones, tinted glasses and other sensory supports that can be used in the workplace, while travelling, in public spaces or at events.
