Desjardins Insurance sponsors Canadian-initiative Cancer and Work’s research, which aims to improve how individuals manage employment during and after a cancer diagnosis. Their website serves as a comprehensive resource for:
- Cancer survivors seeking to return to work, remain employed, change careers, or find new employment after a diagnosis
- Healthcare providers supporting patients through the transition back to work
- Employers aiming to create inclusive, supportive workplaces for employees affected by cancer
Since 2024, Desjardins Insurance has been partnering with Constant Health, a leading Canadian provider in virtual cognitive behavioural nutrition therapy, to offer additional support to plan members. The program offers personalized support and guidance from registered dietitians trained in nutrition science and behaviour change. A specialized nutrition service for plan members living with cancer has recently been added to the list of services offered—whether to prepare for chemotherapy and prevent muscle loss, or to support strength and weight gain after treatment.

Since 2023, Desjardins Insurance has been partnering with HALEO, a provider of virtual cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). Cancer and its treatments can disrupt sleep due to pain, anxiety or medication side effects; HALEO’s clinician-guided programs help employees rebuild healthy sleep routines from home. Restoring sleep supports recovery, daytime energy and overall well-being. The expenses may be eligible for reimbursement under the group insurance plan.
Desjardins Insurance has partnered with Sword Health’s Thrive program, a virtual physiotherapy solution led by licensed physiotherapists to help reduce pain, rebuild strength and address common side effects of cancer and its treatments, safely at home.

- Sword Health may charge plan members up to a maximum of $800 over a one-year period. Once this limit is reached, they get unlimited access to care until the end of the period
